Question 144184: Please help!! The problem is 4m^2 +25=20m.
This is what I have.. 4m^2- 20m+ 25=0. I used the formula b^2 - 4ac and the answer is 400-400=0. The discriminant is zero so there is only one answer. But I can't figure out the #.. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

Question 144284: x^2 -3x = -6x -1
Can somebody explain how to do these? I have a whole paper of them to solve and don't know where to start!
Get all the terms on the left, and 0 on the right side.
x%5E2-3x+=+-6x-1
x%5E2%2B3x%2B1+=+0 Add and subtract to make the right side 0.
Then use the quadratic equation to solve.
a = 1, b = 3, c = 1
x+=+%28-b%2Bsqrt%28b%5E2-4ac%29%29%2F2a
This gives %28-3%2Bsqrt%285%29%29%2F2, and %28-3-sqrt%285%29%29%2F2

Question 144323: The Perimeter of a Rectangle 108m The length is 3m more than twice the width. Find the dimensions. What is the length and the width? (simplify)?
Will someone please help me with this word problem. I cannot do these for the life of me. help
The perimeter is 2L + 2W, so the Length + the Width is 54, 1/2 of 108.
It says, L = 2W+3, and
L+W=54.
2 equations in 2 unknowns:
L+W=54 eqn (1)
L=2W+3 eqn (2)
Substitute for L in eqn (1)
W+2W+3=54
3W + 3 = 54
3W = 51
W = 17
L = 37
