Question 290291: Can someone help me finish this? I am in Iraq fighting with this crappy internet bout to fail pleeeeeease help!!! Just need the last four answers. THANKS!!
Suppose you are an event coordinator for a large performance theater. One of the hottest new Broadway musicals has started to tour and your city is the first stop on the tour. You need to supply information about projected ticket sales to the box office manager. The box office manager uses this information to anticipate staffing needs until the tickets sell out. You provide the manager with a quadratic equation that models the expected number of ticket sales for each day x. ( is the day tickets go on sale).
a. Does the graph of this equation open up or down? How did you determine this?
It opens down because the x^2 term is a negative.
b. Describe what happens to the tickets sales as time passes.
Over time the sales rise, peak then begin to fall.
c. Use the quadratic equation to determine the last day that tickets will be sold.
The last day of ticket sales will be on the 60.9th(61ST)day after going on sale
Note. Write your answer in terms of the number of days after ticket sales begin.
d. Will tickets peak or be at a low during the middle of the sale? How do you know?
The ticket sales will peak during the middle of the sale.
e. After how many days will the peak or low occur?
The peak occurs on the 30th day of sales.
f. How many tickets will be sold on the day when the peak or low occurs?
g. What is the point of the vertex? How does this number relate to your answers in parts e. and f?
h. How many solutions are there to the equation ? How do you know?
i. What do the solutions represent? Is there a solution that does not make sense? If so, in what ways does the solution not make sense?

Question 290815: the instructions state: Solve the Quatractic equation by factoring and using the Zero-Product Property.
the problem is: 3y^2-11y=10
here is what i've done so far:
i subtracted 10 from the right side so it will equal 0 then i added it to the binomial on the left.
i got 3y^2-11y+10=0
next, i would have to factor the trinomial. i got this far:
(3y^2-y)(-10y+10)
this is where i got stuck because i cant factor it correctly in order to use the Zero-Product Property.
Thank you for your help

Question 291300: I have never had such a problem with maths before. Everyone says it's easy, and it might be easy, IF I ONLY GOT THE HANG OF IT. I've alwayas got around math problems before, but this time,it's quadric equations, and it seems impossible. I read my textbook over and over again, but just don't get it. It's like, my mind is blocked. My teachers keep saying the same old things again, and again, and I just don't understand it. I'd be delighted to get some help from here, because I don't want to ruin my straight-'A's on my report card with an ass shaped B, or worse, "C". I don't know what to do, or where to start from. I'm flunking. Please help!!!!
