3x^2+9x-12=0
=>3x^2+12x-3x-12=0
=>3x(x+4)-3(x+4)=0
=>(x+4)(3x-3)=0
=>(x+4)=0 or (3x-3)=0
=>x=-4 or 3x=3
=>x=-4 or x=1
Answer: x=-4 or x=1
