Why if the Discriminant is -b (plus or minus) square root of b^2-4ac/2Xa does Algebra.com solve it as -4 (plus or minus) square root of 4^2+4x2x(-6)/2x2
What does the +or- mean? Is there a clear explanation? For instance, when does it change a numeric in the square root equation; what is the rule?
