Question 121755: The equation h=-16t^2 + 112t gives the height of an arrow, shot upward from the ground with an initial velocity of 112ft/s, where t is the time after the arrow leaves the ground . Find the time it takes for the arrow to reach a height of 180 ft?
t = 180/112
t = 1.6 seconds
Not sure if I'm doing the problem right but just double checking.

Question 121854: This problem seems very simple but I have been stuck on it for 20 minutes and I don't know why!
x^2-x=0
The solution given is x=(0,1) but I do not understand how it was derived. Thankyou!
First you need to look how can you break this down.
so x^2-x = 0, well if you factor out x you have x(x-1)= 0. That means either that x = 0 or x-1=0 solve for x and x = 0 or 1

Question 122161: A rocket is launched into the air. The height in feet, of the rocket, above the ground is given by h(t)=-4.9t(squared) + 192t, where t represents the time in seconds after the launch. (Hint:draw a picture)
#1. How long is the rocket in the air before it reaches the ground?
#2. How long does it take the rocket to reach its highest point?
#3. How high is the rocket at its highest point? I know that to find this answer I use the formula for the line of symmetry, and the vertex is the highest point..I think that it is 19.6 feet if I did it right.
The other questions I do not know how to do.
