Question 557914: What is the the discriminant of 12x^2-x-6=0? I tried working it out and got an a long decimal which rounded to 2, found the square root, i then added (1/6),and divided it by 2, however when i stored x in my calc to check it it didnt = 0, so i know i did something wrong. I think i went wrong with the discriminant but i could have messed up somewhere else. if there is anyway you could show mw how to work it i would be very appreciative!!!
