Question 109585: I am supposed to find k in the following quadratic equation:
(k+3)x^2 + 2kx + 4 = 0.
I have tried using the quadratic formula and unless I'm doing something wrong I don't come up with k. I have tried using the discriminant to find k with no success. I must be missing something easy.

1. Find all values of K such that f(x)is divisible bt the given linear poly.
f(x) k^2x^3-4kx+3; x-1
This is what I did:
f(1)= k^2(1)^3-4k(1)+3
f(1)= k^2-4k+3
(k+1)(k-4)
THis factoring isn't working. I have made a mistake somewhere but I can;t tell where. Please help.

Question 110446: I am trying to graph a quadratic equation....everything was going fine until I tried to get the points for the left side of the graph....they're all over the place...some go below the vertex and it definatly doesnt look like a parabola. Can someone please explain to me how to get the -points? I tried plugging x into the equation but its not working at all...neither are the x and y intercepts, which I have as y=-4 and x=4 and -1, I'm getting so frustrated. The equation is X²+3x-4
