Question 298215: Suppose to want to reserve a rectangular region in a large room and you have 32 ft. of masking tape. Let’s investigate how much area you can reserve with 32 ft. of masking tape and how this area changes with different lengths of sides for the rectangular region.
1) Take a guess on the dimensions of the region that would give the largest area.
2) Find the values for the table below. The column labels of base, height, and area represent the values of the base height and area of the rectangular region. Use as many different values of bases and heights as you can, but have the perimeter or the rectangular region be 32ft. The table could not be put on here but it kind of looks like this:

The converted formula for the height of an object propelled unto the air is h=-16t squared +vt+h sub zero... I think I have height as being 2ft, velocity is 80ft per sec h sub zero is 2ft? Using the formula My answer was x=2. but I don't have a clue how to get other values for x. I thought if the discriminant was 0, which it is, that you could only have one rational solution????? Please help..really want to figure out how to do this problem
