Add 3 to both sides
Take half of the x coefficient -6 to get -3 (ie )
Now square -3 to get 9 (ie )
Add this result (9) to both sides. Now the expression is a perfect square trinomial.

Combine like terms on the right side
Take the square root of both sides
Add 3 to both sides to isolate x.

we have to take 3 to the other side by adding 3 to both sides
x^2 - 6x -3 + 3= 0 +3
x^2 - 6x = 3
Now we have to complete the square by dividing 2 into 6 and then squaring it.
(6/2)^2 = (3)^2 = 9
Now we add 9 to both sides
x^2 - 6x + 9 = 3 + 9
(x-3)^2 = 12
Now we take the square root on both sides of the equation.
x - 3 = 2
x - 3 + 3 = 3 + 2
x = 3 + 2 or x = 3 - 2
