Question 978733: 3x^2-4x=0
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
factor out an x to get:
x * (3x-4) = 0
set each of these factors to 0 to get:
x = 0
3x-4 = 0
solve for x in each one to get:
x = 0
x = 4/3
those should be your solutions.
you can also use the quadratic formula which will give you the same result.
equation is 3x^2 - 4x = 0
a = 3
b = -4
c = 0
x = -b +/- sqrt(b^2-4ac) all divided by 2a.
this results in 4 +/- 4 all divided by 6
this results in 0 or 8/6 which is the same as 4/3.
