Question 962635: "Solve by factoring
"
We are doing the Zero Product Property. I need help because I donttknow if it can even be solved.

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this can be factored several ways.
the easiest is x^2 + 5x = 0 becomes x * (x + 5) = 0.
by the zero product property:
the factors are x = 0 and / or (x + 5) = 0
the solutions are x = 0 and / or x = -5.
you would replace x with 0 in the original equation to see if it's true.
you would replace x with -5 in the original equation to see if it's true.
if it's true, then the solution is good.
both solutions are good.
