Begin by putting this in standard form;
x(3x-7)-20=0
distribute the x;
3-7x - 20 = 0
Now factor;
(x-4)(3x+5)=0
complete each side separately;
x-4 = 0
x = 4
3x+5 = 0
3x = -5
x =
check your answer;
3-7(4)-20 = 0
3(16)-28-20=0
48 - 28-20=0
48-48=0
That one checks out;
3-7-20 = 0
3+-20 = 0
+-20=0
