Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
       x + 9 = 4(x - 1)2

       x + 9 = 4(x - 1)^2

       x + 9 = 4(x - 1)(x - 1)

       x + 9 = 4(x^2 - x - x + 1)

         x + 9 = 4(x^2 - 2x + 1)

         x + 9 = 4x^2 - 8x + 4

-4x^2 + 9x + 5 = 0

 4x^2 - 9x - 5 = 0
