Hi,
.
A = (1/2)bh
(1/2)(h+3)h = 44 cm^2
(h+3)h = 88
h^2 + 3h - 88 = 0 (tossing out negative solution for unit measure)
(h + 11)(h - 8)= 0
h = 8cm and Base = 11cm
And ...checking
(1/2)(8cm)(11cm) = 44cm^2
