Question 920925: Please help me solve this equation tutors!
An object is launched directly upward at 64m/sec from a platform 80m high. Its path is modeled by the equation where h is the height abobe the ground and t is the time in seconds.
a) When will the object hit the ground?
b) What will be the object's maximum height?
c) When will it attain this height
Thank you!
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
h = -16(t -2)^2 + 64 + 80
h = -16(t -2)^2 + 144
a) When will the object hit the ground?
0 = -16(t -2)^2 + 144
(t -2)^2 = 9
t -2 = 3
t = 5 sec
....
h = -16(t -2)^2 + 144
b) What will be the object's maximum height? 144m
c) When will it attain this height: 2sec
