The lowest common denominator is (x-4)(x+4). Multiply the left and right members by (x-4)(x+4), and the simplification process will clear the denominators.
Answer by lwsshak3(11628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x-6)/(x-4)+16/(x^2-16)=0
(x-6)/(x-4)+16/(x+4)(x-4)=0
lcd:(x+4)(x-4)
(x-6)(x+4)+16=0
x^2-2x-24+14=0
x^2-2x-10=0
solve by quadratic formula:

a=1, b=-2, c=-10
