Question 911008: How do I graph f(x)=-2/3(x+2)^2-1
I found the vertex which is (-2,-1). I also need to find the x intercept and y intercept and explain the transformation

Answer by josgarithmetic(39617)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

(parentheses around 2/3 to make rendering show the actual function you want).

The function is in standard form. The x-intercepts happen for , easily solved, since you already have f in standard form. Do this!

The y-intercept occurs for x=0; so just evaluate .

You should be able to understand the situation of the x-intercepts from the algebraic solving process of finding those values.
