Question 904538: expand y=(x-2)^2-25 and write it in the form y=ax^2+bx+c
give the co-ordinates of the intercepts of the y-axis
give the co-ordinates of the y-intercept
please help

Answer by josgarithmetic(39617)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The x intercepts you can find from solving the equation in its currently given standard form, by just setting y=0 and then solve the equation for x.

The y intercept you find by just setting x=0 and evaluating.

The general form asked, you obtain simply through "simplifying", carrying through the squaring and any other additions or subtractions.
