Find the axis of symmetry.
y = x^2 + 7x + 10
-----------
Complete the square on the xFind the axis of symmetry.
y = x^2 + 7x + 10-terms.
x^2+7x+(7/2)^2 = y-10+(7/2)^2
Factor to get:
(x+(7/2))^2 = y+(9/4)
Vertex is at (-7/2,-9/4) so
axis of symmetry is x=-7/2
