Question 889831: 1.Solve the equation, if possible. Write irrational numbers in simplest radical form. Describe the strategy you used to get your solution and tell why you chose that strategy. x^2-4=0 PLEASE SHOW WORK THANK YOU SO MUCH. :)

Answer by parthdesai27(11)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given is x^2 - 4 = 0
-> x^2 - 2^2 = 0 ( 4 = 2^2 )
-> (x-2).(x+2) = 0 ( x^2 - a^2 = (x-a).(x+a) )
-> x-2 = 0 or x+2 = 0
-> x = 2 or x = -2
