112 - 2x = 68
Add 2x to each side
112 = 2X + 68
Subtract 68 from each side
112-68 = 2x
44 = 2x
Divide each side by 2
22 = x
.
It's the negative 2x that confuses people. Remember that we can anything to both sides as long as we do it equally.
