product of co efficient of first term and third term = -24
split 24x^2 into two terms such that when the terms are added it is +2
+6 & -4 = +2
when you multiply them you get +6*-4 = -24
This the product of co efficient of first term and third term = -24

Select the first two terms and the last two
common factor 6x and -4

common factor 2 in the first expression
