Question 833844: The general form for the equation of a parabola is y= ax^2 + bx + c, while the general equation for a (null factor law) quadratic is 0= ax^2 + bx + c
Is there a connection between the form of the two equations?

Yes, which should be very obvious. In the general equation for the 2-D parabola, the equation represents the whole parabola. In the expression=0 equation, this represents the possible one or two points for which the parabola intersects the x-axis ( where "obviously", y=0 ).
