How do you find the vertext of y=(x-5)(x+1)?
--------
You have zeros at x = -1 and at x = 5
----
The vertex must be half-way between the two:
---
Vertex occurs at (5+-1)/2 = 2
----
The y-value of the vertex is f(2) = (2-5)(2+1) = -3*3 = -9
