Can you please explain how to work this problem -x + 6 + 4x^2 = 0
:
This is a quadratic equation, usually written in the form ax^2 + bx + c = 0:
4x^2 - x + 6 = 0
:
You should be familiar with the quadratic formula to solve this type of problem
Your equation: a=4; b=-1; c=6
and
Also the discriminant which is part of the quadratic formula, will let you know
if the equation has any real number solution. b^2 - 4 * a * c
:
This equation -1^2 - 4*4*6 = a negative number, so no real number solutions

Make sure you know the above and we can go on from there.
