Question 810828: I am stuck on how to solve this word problem. please help...
Hasty Henry and Careless Carrie are so disappointed about their grade on the quiz that they asked to do an extra project. The project involved them attaching a quiz to an item and throwing it off the roof of a 12 story, 165 foot building. Carrie attaches hers to a rock and just drops it. Henry attaches his to a slightly smaller rock but throws it down at 48 feet per second. The height in feet after (t) seconds of Carries rock is given by the equation.
C(t)=-16t^2+165, Henrys' is H(t)=-16t^2-48t+165.
The only thing that i see is that Henry has a speed attached to his problem. How should I break down this problem? Thanks for any help in advance. It is very much appreciated.
