Question 795412: Indicate whether the set defines a function. If it does, state the domain and range of the function. {(1,7),(2,7),(3,7),(4,7)}

The set of relations above is a function., it is called a many-to-one relation whereas the domain is paired once to a range.
Domain D {1,2,3,4}
Range R {7}
note that the sets of relation can be called function sets if the domain is paired only once to a range. It doesn't matter if the range is paired two or more times in domain just make sure that the domain is not paired two or more times in range.
The table of values
X|1|2|3|4|
--------------
Y|7|7|7|7|
base on this table, the value of x is not repeated and y is repeated, so it is still a function.
You can graph that in a cartesian plane and using the vertical line test (VLT), you can test whether the set of relation is a function or not., if u draw a vertical lines in every points, then it only intersects one point, it is a fuction, if it intersects 2 or more points, then it's not a function.
