Question 774669: You have taken over an abandoned project of drilling a water well. After 3 hours of drilling at a rate of 3.5 feet per hour, the depth is 27.5 ft.
How deep was the hole before you began drilling?

Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 hours at a rate of 3.5 feet/hr
= 10.5 feet.
27.5 feet - 10.5 feet = 17 feet.
The hole was 17 feet deep before
you began drilling.
Hope this helps.
