Question 772373: mrs.constantino bought 20 meters of wire for fencing her rectangular garden.one side of the garden is against the wll,so it does not need fencing.what equation gives the area of the garden in terms of the width of the sides?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The width of the garden = x
Length of wire = 20 metres.
Length = 20 - 2x (Length of wire - 2 widths
either end of rectangle)
Area = Length * Width
Area = (20 - 2x) * x
Area = 20x - 2x^2
Hope this helps.
