Ok Since the balance on his credit card is alread a negative because he owes that we write it
Then he made three returns which are then positives so we would take the problem and set it up like so:
-780
+ 43.10
+ 36.80
+125.00
________
-575.10 This is still what he owes after the positive returns.
+400.00 The man makes a 400.00 payment which is another postive leaving him:

-175.10 This is what we come up with that he owes after making the payment.
- 82.75 Makes another purchas that is adds another negative to the balance.

-257.85 Answer.
