3X^2+10X+17X+8+2=0
3X^2+27X+10=0 THIS IS THE STANDARD FORM (Ax^2+BX+C)
USING THE QUADRATIC EQUATION

WE GET
X=(-27+-SQRT[27^2-4*3*10])/2*3
X=(-27+-SQRT[729-120])/6
X=(-27+-SQRT[609])/6
X=(-27+-24.68)/6
X=(-27+24.68)/6
X=-2.32/6
X=-.387 ANSWER.
X=(-27-24.68)/6
X=-51.68/6
X=-8.613 ANSWER.
