Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Substitute the values from the ordered pair and check if the equation is true.
Your function is extremely ambiguous. One could only guess what you mean:
f(x)=-x^2-5x+6
or
f(x)=(-x)^2-5x+6
or
f(x)=-(x^2-5x+6)
or
something else?
I would give one or two steps into the process if I knew exactly what is your given function. Anyway, substitute 2 for x and -6 for f(x) and find if the equation is true.

Does the graph of f(x)= -x^2 -5x+6 have the point (2,-6) on it?
----------
--> is f(2) = -6 ?
f(2) = -4 -10 + 6
f(2) = -8
--> not on the graph
