Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve each equation symbolically.
A. (X+3)^2=7
B. (X-2)^2-8=13
symbolically means using the quadratic formula

compare this equation with ax^2+bx+c
a=1, b=6, c=2
b^2-4ac= 36 -8
b^2-4ac= 28

x1=( -6 + 5.29 )/ 2
x1= -0.35

x2=( -6 -5.29 ) / 2
x2= -5.65
two values of x. -0.35 & -5.65
