What I've tried doing:
4(x+9)^2=24
4x+36^2=24
4x+1296=24
4x+1272=0
I am not sure what to do from here.
I have also decided that it cannot be factored evenly.

divide both sides by 4

subract 6 from each side of the equal side

now you can use the quadratic formula to solve for x

simplify sqrt(24)
divide everything by 2
