You are correct on both. Nice work.

To check them, you just plug them back in and see if they satisfy the original equation

Checking x = -7/2

2x^2+3x=14

2(-7/2)^2+3(-7/2)=14

2(49/4)+3(-7/2)=14

98/4-21/2=14

98/4-42/4=14

(98-42)/4=14

(56)/4=14

14 = 14 ... which is TRUE

So x = -7/2 satisfies the equation, which means x = -7/2 is a solution

Checking x = 2

2x^2+3x=14

2(2)^2+3(2)=14

2(4)+3(2)=14

8 + 6=14

14 = 14 ... which is TRUE

So x = 2 satisfies the equation, which means x = 2 is a solution

So both answers check out.
