Question 711121: How can find max/min value
Answer by nerdybill(7384) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Max/min values are typically associated with "quadratic equations" -- that is, polynomials of degree 2.
The "vertex" of the quadratic gives max or min.
General form of a quadratic:
Ax^2 + Bx + C
To determine whether the vertex gives the max or min you look at the "A" coefficient.
If A is POSITIVE;parabola opens upwards; vertex gives the MIN.
If A is NEGATIVE;parabola opens downwards; vertex gives the MAX.
