Question 70974: Problem#20
Find the distance between each pair of points.
(-3,0) and (4,0)
Problem#48
Use the pythagoran theorem to determine the length of each line segment. Where appropriate, round to the nearest hundredth.
in the diagram the points it has are (1,-1) and (3,2)

DISTANCE FOR THE Y POINTS IS 0 & THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE X POINTA IS 4-(-3)=7.
TO PROVE THIS, PLOT THE TWO POINTS ON GRAPH PAPER.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE X LINE SECMENT IS 3-1=2
THE Y LINE SEGMENT IS 2-(-1)=3
THEREFORE THE DIAGONAL (LINE CONNECTING THESE TWO POINTS IS
2^2+3^2=D^2
4+9=D^2
13=D^2
D=SQRT13 D=3.61 FOR THE DIAGONAL.
