Did you mean x^2 + 2x + 1?
(x+1)(x+1)
Both positive signs due to + 2 and + 1
While there is only one multiple for 1: 1,1 they add up to 2, so
checking with foil
x^2 + 1x + 1x + 1
x^2 + 2x +1 does match
...
If you meant x^2 + 3 then it is prime.
