Question 62214: 15. Find the x-intercepts.
y=x^2-2x+4
x^2-2x+4=0
I then tried to factor however, there are no multiples of four that would equate to two. What am I not doing?

There are no real x-intercepts
If I look for roots by completing the square,

1st, sbtract 4 from both sides

Now take 1/2 the coefficient of x and square it. add to both sides

Take square root of both sides

and

so, the plot does not intercept the x-axis
