Use a graphing utility to graph the quadratic function. Find the x-intercepts of the graph and compare them with the solutions of the corresponding quadratic equation when y=0.
y=x^2-9x+18
------
y = x^2-9x+18
x = [9 +- sqrt(81-4*18)]/2
x = [9 +- sqrt(9)]/2
--
x = (9+3)/2 = 6
x = (9-3)/2 = 3
