since, the force is downward it will be negative.

(1/2)gt^2 + vt + h
where
g is gravity (m/sec^2)
t is time (sec)
v is initial velocity
h is initial height

your equation should be:
-(1/2)gt^2 + vt + h
-(1/2)9.8t^2+4t+3
-4.9t^2+4t+3
