i have to find the coordinates of the vertex of y=1/2x^2+3x-7
Find the x coordinate first by using the formula x=-b/2a and then substitute that value fo x in the original equation, then solve for the y coordinate.
y=ax^2+bx+c====>>1/2x^2+3x-7
a=1/2,b=3,c=-7
x=-b/2a==>>-(3)/2(1/2)=-3/1
x=-3
y(-3)=1/2(-3)^2+3(-3)-7
y=-23/2
Vertex coordinates (-3,-23/2)
