the formula for the length of a right triangle is a^2 + b^2 = c^2
a and b are legs of the triangle.
c is the hypotenuse of the triangle.
you are given:
a = x
b = x+1
c = x+3
you need to solve for x.

number 4 moves everything from the right hand side of the eqution to the left hand side of the equation.

i tested the results by subsituting for x in the original equation and it checks out so i'm reasonably sure this is the right answer.
