Question 541100: A tennis court has a perimeter of 212 feet. If the length is 24 feet longer than the width, how many inches are the dimensions of the court.
Answer by friesr(113) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
perimeter of rectangle is 2L + 2W = P
Lenght = x
Width = x + 24
2x + 2(x + 24) = 212
2x + 2x + 48 = 212
4x = 164
x = 41
width is 41 ft, lenght is 41+24 = 65ft
12 inches per foot
Width 41 * 12 = 492 inches
Lenght 65 * 12 = 780 inches
