Question 493293: Im trying to help my son but can't remember how. Write the quadratic function in standard form. Determine whether the graph of the functions opens up or down. Problem: y=3-2x-x^2
Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y = -x^2 - 2x + 3
y = -(x^2 + 2x) + 3
y = -(x^2 + 2x + 1) + 4
y = -1*(x+1)^2 + 4 Standard form
The coefficient of the x^2 term is negative, so it opens downward.
