The y-int is at x = 0
f(0) = 50 --> (0,50)
---------------
f(x)= -x^2 + 5x + 50 = 0
You can factor it.
(-x + 10)*(x + 5) = 0
x = -5, 10
Answer by oberobic(2304) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y-intercept occurs when x=0, which is the point (0,50)
-x^2+5x+50 can be factored
(-x+10)(x+5)=-x^2 -5x +10x +50
So, x=10 and x=-5 will be the roots.
y=0, so the points will be (-5,0) and (10,0)
A graph is always a good idea.
