Question 452046: The line y=2x-k passes through the point (4,0)
work out the value of k
Answer by nerdybill(7384) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The line y=2x-k passes through the point (4,0)
.
Since the line passes through (4,0)
this means that
x = 4
y = 0
.
plug it in to:
y = 2x-k
0 = 2(4)-k
0 = 8-k
adding 'k' to both sides:
k = 8
