A quadratic equation is an equation involving the 2nd power, but no higher power,
of an unknown. The general form a^2 + bx + c = 0 (a, b, and c are known; x is
unknown) (a does not = 0). There are three ways to solve this kind of equation for x.
One way is to factor the left hand side, one is completing the square, and the
third is using the quadratic formula:
