Question 403640: 2.Does the equation 3(x – 1) + 5 = 15x + 7 – 4 – 4(3x +1) + 3 has infinitely many solutions,
one solution, or no solutions? Show your work to illustrate your answer.
Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you combine/simplify terms on the left hand side, you get 3x+2.
Doing the same on the right hand side, you also get 3x+2.
Hence what you get is an identity, where the solution set is the same as the domain of the equation. Hence for the given equation the solution set is the set of all real numbers.
