what is the effect of  and  in graphing:

the vertex form of a parabola,  where(h,k) is the vertex

In these examples k = 0

    |vertex is Pt(-3,0)  line of symmetry x = -3

    |vertex is Pt (3,0)  line of symmetry x = 3
